Preparing for mountain snow adventures in Oregon starts long before we ever leave the valley. Winter travel in the Cascades and Siskiyous demands respect, planning, and experience. Our vehicles are equipped with AWD, studded snow tires, and winter emergency kits so we can confidently navigate icy mountain roads and changing conditions. Every trip is planned around current weather forecasts, road reports, and snow levels, ensuring our guests enjoy the mountains safely rather than worrying about the drive.

Cold-weather readiness is just as important as traction. We brief guests on proper winter layering, recommending moisture-wicking base layers, insulating mid-layers, and waterproof outer shells. Extra gloves, hats, and warm layers are always on hand, and every tour carries a satellite SOS device for remote mountain communication—because cell service can disappear quickly in snowy terrain. These precautions allow guests to relax and fully enjoy Oregon’s winter landscapes knowing safety comes first.

Once we arrive, we fully outfit our guests for snow travel. Snowshoes and trekking poles are provided and adjusted for each person, making winter trails accessible even for first-timers. Snowshoeing opens up quiet forests, frozen meadows, and scenic viewpoints that are unreachable in summer. With proper gear and guidance, guests discover that winter is one of the most peaceful and awe-inspiring times to explore Oregon’s mountains.

Many of our snow destinations require a current Oregon Sno-Park permit, which helps fund snow removal, trail grooming, and winter access across the state. Passes can be purchased online or at local vendors through Oregon Department of Transportation before heading into the mountains.
